EXSE Oy Ltd is a Finnish company founded in 2018 that specializes in risk management investigation and information analysis services. We are a part of a closed company network with operators that have extensive professional intelligence and investigations expertise. All the network members are vetted and security cleared by Finnish authorities.

Who are we

Our company's key personnel consists of highly experienced Finnish professionals with decades of experience in security, investigations, intelligence, analysis and risk management. In addition to our education and training, our know-how has been acquired in the service of Finnish authorities, international organizations and commercial enterprises. Our staff has operated in more than fifty countries during their careers; from serving in crisis management operations to working for clinical pharmaceutical industry.

Services

Obtaining and analysing relevant and up-to-date information is an essential part of any risk management system. Investigation seeks to find out the course of events of already materialized threats or “close-call” situations, as well as the related circumstances and root causes. ​The intelligence and analysis in turn seeks to anticipate future threats, to reveal hidden threats and opportunities and to increase the understanding of already known threats to refine the risk assessment measures.

EXSE Impact - information acquisition and analysis service

In businesses, internal investigation has traditionally been used to discover chains of events, responsibilities and root causes related to internal and external misconducts. However, this model of investigative action is limited from the competitive advantage point of view. It limits the usability of the investigation as a function. Investigative methods can also be used for risk management intelligence gathering, for example identifying Best Practices or providing information on a crisis caused by external circumstances (e.g. COVID-19).

EXSE Impact and the EU ”whistle-blower” Directive

In December 2019, the EU Directive on the "on the protection of persons who report breaches of Union law" entered into force. This directive must be implemented by the Member States by 17 December 2021. The clearest requirement of the Directive is the obligation for companies, with more than 50 employees, to set up a reporting channel or channels for the infringements mentioned in the Directive.

The Directive primarily sees "whistle-blowing" notifications to be reported through companies' own internal systems. This means that private sector companies must have appropriate, impartial and independent procedures in place to receive, process and follow-up all notifications.

EXSE Impact takes into account all the requirements of the Directive and helps your company to build a functional and easy-to-maintain system to deal with the reports. We can help your company to:

• Establish, and to document, effective processes for both dealing with the whistle-blowing reports and for required follow-up measures, such as internal investigations.
• To select the most appropriate technical notification handling platform for receiving the whistle-blowing reports.
